You're using it to monitor web ads ? Not sure what that means ?
AD is used for user authentication an security on the network.
It can be potentially be used with IBMi, but your user names and passwords
need to be in-sync across the network.
The main usage is for Client Access/400. Not sure if the new ACS works
with AD.
For the record HS has a product called Power Admin which I believe can
integrated your IBMi and AD info for authentication synchronization. Also
have a 2-factor auth product for green screens.

The AD server is used to co-oridnate and monitor one's web ads.
