I have development tools on both machines,
I will try starting from scratch
Create source file
Add member in it with a couple of lines of code
Create DDMF
Try the DSPPFM

If you create a new src-pf on the target, and add a member to it, can
you read that?
If you have no dev tools on the target you can do your testing with
CRTSRCPF FILE(ROB/TESTSRCPF) EDTF FILE(ROB/TESTSRCPF) MBR(MYMBR)
