The scary huge gaps were back on really old 7.1 TRs. Those were where you
were likely to have to slip the lic.
But I'd try the 7.3 upgrade. Then fall back to TR7 if you fail to get
that approved. Some people are so rigid in downtime they may make you
wait a long time until your next outage.
As you can tell this is a general comment based on zero knowledge of your
shop.
