I don't know the specifics of the 2 types of disk. But I wonder...

Would the extra 4 (virtual) arms would be an advantage over the bigger drives?

Would putting all the disks in 1 RAID set and using RAID 6 work better?? Still 2 parity disks; 1 hot spare.
