My two bits

1. Have a SSIS (comes with SQL Server) process with IBM i table as Source
and SQL Server new table as Destination, Or create a Stored
procedure on the SQL Server
side that do the same.

2. Periodically run that SSIS / Stored procedure using the SQL Server built
in scheduler
(called SQL Server Agent)
OR
install IBM's Client access "listener" service Cwbrxd on the SQL Server
machine
and use the i's RUNRMTCMD to execute the A/M process.

Simple, easy and no ARDGATE or db-Gate needed.

I have quite a few such processes transferring data from i to SQL Server
and
to the i from SQL Server.
Some run daily, some run every hour and some run on cue.
(i.e after a new Proforma invoice is entered in SQL side it is
automatically transferred to the i - and the same goes the other way.)
