Hi Gad!

You have to specify the date format.  This works for me:

values idate(19500523,'*CCYMD'), idate(20050523, '*CCYMD')

VALUES
1950-05-23
2005-05-23

Hello Alan Rob.

Thanks,
I've tested iDate function but it returns weird values.

like in

select idate(19500523) as idate1, idate(20050523) as idate2
from SYSIBM.SYSDUMMY1

IDATE1 IDATE2
2850-05-23 1905-05-23

year 1950 is returned as 2850
year 2005 is returned as 1905

where did I err ?

(this is a V7R2 machine if it matters)

TIA
Gad
