I have a number of python2 and python3 packages installed.

I don't have this directory:
/usr/bin/x-terminal

Same as mine. I started one and found what it's running.

/usr/bin/python /usr/bin/x-terminal-emulator -e /bin/bash -c /usr/bin/ssh -Y kevin@mds || sleep 5

Do you have python installed? Does /usr/bin/x-terminal/emulator lauch a terminal for you? For me it is a simlink to /etc/alternatives/x-terminal-emulator which is a simlink to /usr/bin/terminator which is the terminal program that I prefer.
