I am using a SELECT to retrieve a value from a table. For some records,
there are more than 1 results.

Is it possible to do a SELECT to get the last occurrence of a value without
need to define dynamic SQL and read all records until I get the last record?

Using MAX is not a solution in this case.

The test is on the max of date and time, (2 fields).

This is a V7.1 system.

TIA

Darryl Freinkel.
