The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
Another alternative? We use IBM's Edge server. It has some intelligence
built into it. For example, you go to
http://dekkohome.corp.dekko.com for
our internal website. Our DNS routes that to one IP address, let's say
10.10.6.123. Edge will balance this address between three different
Domino based web servers all located on different machines in different
subnets. It does this by load and by checking a particular url on port 80
to see that Domino web serving is up on that machine.
So you can automatically route your 1.1.1.1 to your 2.2.2.2 address. And
you can check the connection stats on Edge to see who is using the old
address.
Last week I just migrated our Edge server from one subnet to another and
had to make a bunch of DNS changes for all the addresses and ports
supported by EDGE.
You can configure it with their GUI or their simple text based .cfg file.
We also upgraded versions at the same time. Went from older IP4 version
only to newer version which supports both IP4 and IP6. IBM was nice
enough to redo our .cfg file for us. It was a pretty drastic gutting.
Only problem with Edge is that it doesn't return pings.
