All,

Until a few months ago, all email I sent from the IBM i went through an
internal relay on a Windows server. After reading an article by Nathan
Andelin (thank you!) I was able to change the settings on our IBM i to send
email via gmail relay and take that Windows server out of the picture.

I discovered recently that the Advance Job Scheduler (AJS) is still sending
email via that internal Windows relay. The only way to change that in AJS
is via the System i Navigator route. You put in 1) outgoing mail server,
2) port, and 3) reply address. (There are other things like retry
attempts, etc, but not relevant here.)

As I said, the outgoing mail server is still set to that relay and port
25. I just want AJS to use the SMTP setup I have on the IBM i. If I
change the outgoing mail server to the IP address of the IBM i, is that
it? Or do I need to tell AJS to use the gmail relay?

Thanks.
