There's no change in IPDS/AFPDS printing in 7.2 or 7.3.

PSF has always been needed for LAN attached *IPDS printers.

What's biting you is that twinax is gone, leaving LAN as your only method
for connecting an IPDS printer.

Personally, I'd just get PSF. I don't recall it costing all that much.
