Kelly short of writing your own utility, I was able to get the following working from QSH on V7.3

system DSPJOB | grep ASPGRP

Depending on how you get to QSH maybe you could set a new environment variable:
ADDENVVAR ENVVAR(my_ASP_is) VALUE(iasp01)

then you can get that envvar from the "printenv" or "env" command

I am looking for a command I can call from a QSH script that helps
determine a user/job ASP group. I need something like this so because I
want to map QSH program names to QSYS *PGM objects with a symbolic link and
the pathname needs to have the ASP name if you are not on *SYSBAS. If no
such command exists, what is the precise method for determining it? I
would suspect that you should examine your job with QUSRJOBI API but there
are several mentions of ASP groups, etc.
