It's all the same stuff. It's the servers you start with STRHOSTSVR *ALL.

There is a C toolkit and a Java toolkit. The C toolkit comes/came with
Client Access (haven't used it since the 1990's, don't know anymore).

Then there's JTOpen. It has com.ibm.as400.access.DataQueue which is what is
behind the dq
