SAVRST saves the objects to a save file before sending and then restores out of the save file on the other end. It actually does work quite well for this.

If already configured SAVRST is easy but not fast. 500MB these days is very little but 57,000 files will take much more time this way than gzipping or SAV to a *SAVF then FTPing and unzipping I would expect.
