Supply list:
- One EMX0 Expansion unit
- One EJ08 card
- Two ECC7 cables
- Four ECDU Y012 cables
- Four ECE0 AA12 cables
- Two ESLS disk expansion units configured in Mode 1.
- 30+ disk drives.

Steps:
- Power off unit
- Remove unused 1 Gigabit Ethernet (UTP) 4 Port Adapter PCIE-4x/Short,
Feature code: 5260, 5899 from slot C10 of our 8286-41A system unit.
- Install new EJ08 card into slot C10
- Run one end of ECC7 cable from T1 of EJ08 card into T1 of EMX0 expansion
unit.
- Run one end of another ECC7 cable from T2 of EJ08 card into T2 of EMX0
expansion unit.
That should attach the expansion unit to the system unit.

What confuses me is attaching the expansion unit (EMX0) to the new disk
expansion units (ESLS).
The EMX0 has four identical cards. These cards have four ports each. They
start at the bottom with T0 and end at the top with T3. They are in slots
1, 3, 4, 6.
I can't figure out which diagram (if any) at
https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/8286-41A/p8eiu/p8eiu_connect_to_server.htm

is applicable.
Should I have any left over Y012 or AA12 cables?
