Don.

Not quite what you're supposed to do. After you get it using openssl,
save that as a cer file. Double click to open it up, then each of the
CAs in the chain you export and those are the CAs you import into DCM.

Send me the data you got between begin certificate and end certificate
and I will export them for you. bvstone at bvstools dot com.

I tried myself but I couldn't connect.

Ok here is the details.

I then successfully saved the returned certificate to a text file and
converted to DER format, ftp'd to the IBM i and installed as CA into the
*SYSTEM Certificate store.

SNDDST still fails.

Below is most of the trace - I can provide the entire trace if required.

You will see at 06/24/2017 03:08:06.344 that client authentication failed.

If I try and send an email manually from the command line on the IBM i by
using telnet to port 25 of the Exchange server as soon as I enter the MAIL
FROM:don@xxxxxxxxxx the telnet session is dropped.

If I do the same from a DOS box on another server I am able to manually
send and receive the sent email.

It would appear I am still missing something - but what is the mystery!!!

Don,

Here's a link on how you can use open SSL to get the certificate
required so that you can export the CAs from the certificate.
http://docs.bvstools.com/home/ssl-documentation/openssl

Once you have that, you can export the CAs using these instructions
(but skip the first part that shows how to get the certificate from a
web page):

http://docs.bvstools.com/home/ssl-documentation/exporting-certificate-authorities-cas-from-a-website

Then import them into your *SYSTEM store starting with the topmost CA
in the chain, and ending with the bottom most CA:
http://docs.bvstools.com/home/ssl-documentation/importing-a-certificate-authority-ca

Feel free to contact me for assistance. I do this many times a week
for customers. :)

Hi All,

I am sure Brad has answered this one in the past but my google skills
today and failing me.

Email from the IBM i was working until upgrading to V7R3

Running a trace I can see the IBM i is being rejected access from the
Exchange server.

The error indicates an ssl authentication error.

Ok lets check DCM - Ok .. no DCM set up at all, no problems let's do
that.

Now how do i determine what certificates on the Exchange server I need
to
export and import into DCM.

And please correct me but I need to install any Intermediate CA's first
?

Thanks
