Yes, very handy capability. As far as journals, same as any other journal.
When you create the journal, you specify how you want the journal to handle
the receivers.
You can specify that it automatically creates new receivers as needed when
the receiver reaches a certain size or you can specify that you must
manually add the new receiver.
Sounds like whoever created the journal set it up; to not create a new
receiver automatically. You might want to consider changing it so that it
will just automatically create a new journal receiver.
