Zend Server 9 is a new Install, so you can have both your ZS8 server installed and the ZS9 Server installed.

They've renamed the Server to ZENDPHP7.

So you could test it without actually turning off your older server.

We've installed Zend Server 9, but have not got around to testing it yet.

Subject: Zend Server and PHP Upgrade on IBM i Question

We are on V7.1 IBM i power 7 and are currently running Zend server 8.0.2 with PHP 5.6.7.

We are looking to upgrade to a more current version and I was wondering if anyone running on IBM i has done the leap to Zend server 9.1.0 with PHP
7.1 ? Any concerns, gotchas, pros and cons ?

We would also look at upgrading to at least Zend server 8.5.7 that still comes with PHP 5.6 as I have read that IBM i V7.3 only supports 8.5.3 and higher.

I will be attending COMMON and see Jim is offering a class on IBM i and PHP Systems Administration so hopefully can get some good take aways with that class.

Thanks in advance

Laura
