I think I found my new favorite hex-to-char or char-to-hex translator:
Run SQL Scripts
values hex('*ALL '); -- Convert char-to-hex
values char(x'5CC1D3D3404040404040'); -- Convert hex-to-char

And, thinking of a recent thread on LinkedIn
values char(x'7D'); -- displays an apostrophe
