There is no difference between a user on the local network and a user
coming in via a VPN as far as the operating system cares or knows about.
The user connected from an IP address, and if we have a proper route
back to them, we can respond and send them information. If you can't
tell by the IP address, then you won't be able to tell as far as I know.

Subject: Is it possible to detect when a person is connecting via VPN
From an interactive RPG application, I want to be able to interrogate
session to determine if they are on the local network, or if they areusing a
VPN to gain access. The users in question have laptops with static IPstatic IPs
addresses. I don't want to know about the advantages of DHCP, the
are not my decision, and I don't have the authority to change it. I amlooking
for an API or a technique to detect the VPN user.list
