First off that software has not been updated by IBM in quite some time, I
think before V4R2. Any updates have been to make it work, as opposed to
updating it so it's a reasonable back up process.

That said, the only way to know what that process actually did is to look at
the job log. There are a couple of reports as you indicate, clearly you
could use a program to read those, but I think the job log might be more
enlightening.

My fear with that software is not what it does back up, it's what it DOES
NOT backup, which I fear is quite a bit.

If recoverability is your goal for the backup, then you should either roll
your own CLs or use BRMS. On small systems BRMS is so cheap that it'll pay
for itself if you include your time to build a recoverable back up CL
program as an offset to the costs. Of course the first time you go to
recover an object it'll pay for itself in that one recovery.

Subject: Check obj not saved with RUNBCKUP

Hi all

In our system we use SETUPBCKUP menu to setup backup ; as I would avoid
every day to check the spool files created from the RUNBCKUP to check the
backup result, I would like to know if with a program (RPGLE or CLLE or
other) is it possible to check if some objects have not been saved .. can
some one help me to this matter

Thanks in advance
