Dave,

Let's look at this closely
SELECT OUTQ, SPOOLNAME
, SUM(SIZE) as SIZE
, SUM(PAGES) as PAGES
, JOB_NAME, CREATED
FROM QSYS2.OUTPUT_QUEUE_ENTRIES
GROUP BY GROUPING SETS(
(OUTQ, SPOOLNAME, JOB_NAME, CREATED)
, (OUTQ)
, ()
)
ORDER BY OUTQ, SPOOLNAME, JOB_NAME, CREATED

First, can you tell me how it:
- displays details
- displays a subtotal by output queue
- displays a grand total
?

The trick is: It DOESN'T display details (technically). What it shows
you is a sum of those columns by each of the three breaks. It just
happens that the first break has so many columns in it that it makes it
unique (providing that the create timestamp is exact enough that it
doesn't also require the spool number)
(OUTQ, SPOOLNAME, JOB_NAME, CREATED)
So, to not get details you would remove this first grouping set and just
have:
GROUP BY GROUPING SETS(
, (OUTQ)
, ()
)
