FileSystemWatcher was exactly the control I was thinking of. It sounds great in theory, but in practice it can be toppled by a stiff breeze.

I suppose FTP is a workaround. Definitely more reliable than IFS shares 😊
Better yet, have them fix their code. I don't ever fully trust the File System Watcher events which I suspect they are using.
They have always been problematic on regular Windows shares and I would suspect with IFS for shares as well since NetServer has always been a sub-par file sharing mechanism.
FWIW - I recommend listing the directory at each pass. Very fast and most likely eliminates the problem every time.
