There are the audit receivers, and then there are the journal receivers
used by tables, etc.

And, yes, on occasion we do look at the receivers for "Why, yes, you did
clear the entire output queue. Let me educate you that when you take that
option it doesn't just delete your spool files" type of situations.

But, a major reason why we retain the table receivers for so long is to do
journal scraping. We are not interested in modifying our vendor code to
create log files. And adding a trigger hasn't caught on. We are really
anxious to extend it by using Temporal Table support which came out in
7.3. We've done some initial testing and we can add the columns necessary
for temporal table support without having to recompile our Infor programs.
The only thing holding us back is the lack of Mimix support for Temporal
Tables. Since they are taking too <expletive deleted> long in coming out
with support we are going to replace their product.
As I've said, no vendor chains us down here.
