I'm not sure "just get" is all that is needed.

However - it looks as if Amazon S3 will work at least for my blog backups.
Now I have to see how Aaron is using S3 for SAVF backups and see if I can
adapt my process to that.

would however massively increase my budget.

The closest offering to what I have now would take me from $25 per annum

(admittedly very cheap) to nearly $2,000. That ain't gonna happen. Best
case scenario would be for me to radically reduce the number of active
backups I retain to fit within 40Gb and even that would take me to close to
20x what I spend now.

a machine specifically for the purpose. Then set up the Google drive,

And to what benefit? More work, greater dependency on PC hardware,
and no payback except moving off ADrive.

Surely to goodness ADrive are not the only people who offer FTP sites?

And therein lies the rub Brad. Your solution, among many others
would work just fine, but the scripts are already in place - and in
the case of the blog site not fully controlled by me.

You're going to have to elaborate. Are you saying you can't change
the FTP script?
