The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
It's not BRMS that would be the problem, it would be if you only have one
device. If you have the same number of devices there's not that much
difference since BRMS relies on the OS save commands/APIs anyway.
With one device it would be possible, sure, but completely unacceptable for
Time of Recovery. Read tape one for 20 seconds, unload, load tape two, read
for 20 seconds, unload, reload tape 1, etc. How long does it take to unload
and load a tape? Now my times might be off a little but not much. Large
and small objects would have different characteristics as would the IFS. In
the end, one device would be nearly undoable.

Since we use parallel saves with BRMS I bet that would be a real hoot to
restore from outside of BRMS.
