BTW beginning with release 7.2. all data access including QUERY/400,
OPNQRYF, native I/O is executed with the SQL Query Engine.


I think it's important to note that RLA operations are NOT run through the
SQE. Only "queries" (which may include Query/400 and OPNQRYF) are run
through the SQE (or the CQE, depending on SQE_NATIVE_ACCESS setting).

Queries also include SQL Views, where OPNDBF runs SQL queries that create
temporary tables which may be subsequently accessed via RPG READ and READP
opcodes.

If your RLA is referencing standard tables and indexes, query engines (SQE
and CQE) are not used.
