Twas the night before Christmas and all through the center,
not a server was busy, no one there hitting Enter.

The backups were stacked in their cases with care,
in hopes that the courier soon would be there.

The sysops were gone, all home for the night,
their jobs were complete as their workload was light.

The queries had run, their output complete,
web traffic was waning, no deadlines to meet.

The processor clocks they were all slowing down
their voltages dip, the fans lower their moan.

The lights on the servers were all steady green
no orange, no amber, no red to be seen.

The raid cards were scanning the drives to be sure
no data was wrong and the parity pure.

Cause that’s what they do when no work is in queue
to be sure it’s all ready for me and for you.

And then to my wondering eye did appear,
I didn’t see anything, there’s nothing to fear!

What? You expected clatter and problems?
This is IBM i on Power Systems folks!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
