MQ is licensed in PVU’s if you have a multicore IBM i server you can reduce the number of PVU’s needed by “limiting” the number of cores that MQ uses. This works if you MQ needs can run with only one processor. the same works for some other IBM software, like WebQuery.

I mainly deal with transaction processing. I always design for an acknowledgement that process was performed.
