Well it's already free so that's off the table. Unless you have no support
that is in which case it's 'unobtanium' so you're stuck.


It may be free if you have maintenance, but the time isn't free and that
also assumes they won't need a hardware upgrade as well. Most shops don't
have dedicated Sysops anymore to do these things.

In the meantime an application you rely on is dead in the water because you
trading partner did what was required and chose to keep up with the
standards and updated their SSL certificate. Too bad it uses a cipher that
isn't supported by your currently "supported" OS.

If they can add all these open source options with PTFs.. why not ciphers?

Either drop support and make it well known or make the updates. SSL of all
things we KNOW is going through huge changes and this past quarter was a
deadline for most to update and get current.
