We use a commercial product (PowerTech Authority Broker) to temporarily
adopt elevated authorities in the interactive environment. Has the added
benefit of recording the commands used while elevated. I imagine it uses
the swap profile APIs.

Before the product was installed, called a command request processing
program that ran under the owner profile, where the owner had sufficient
prvileges.

I can swap profiles to elevate authority in the green screen environment,
but haven't figured out how to do so in RDi
