The DBU product, currently from ProData Computer Services, has an option to un-delete records. I'm not sure how it handles bulk un-deletes.

The key is that the file must NOT have been reorganized! That scrambles any of the un-delete information.

Re: reading a SAVF: A SAVF can be read in RPG. It's a 528-byte record length; records from files longer or shorter wrap without any gaps between them; the records fill the entire 528 bytes.

A client ran a process with incorrect dates on V7R1 system that deleted
records from 6 files. They have since discovered their backups have not
successfully run since 2015.

Ages ago there was a tool to recover deleted records. Does it still exist
and work with V7R1 databases?

Was it in TAATOOL library and is it still marketed?

Thanks,
