Re: Stored Procedure and VarChar Content Length

As I see it, there are two things to consider regarding SQL. One of those
things would be how a particular function or language element behaves (or
is defined). For these I would refer to the Reference Manual.

On the other hand, with things like Stored Procedures we are talking about
SQL Programming. For this I'm very fond of an IBM Redbook:

OK, so you're saying that I shouldn't be trying to look for
documentation on something unique to stored procedure syntax. Rather, I
should just look for documentation on standard built-in SQL functions. OK,
so let me ask the question this way... Where do I find documentation for
syntax or usages that are unique to SQL stored procedures? Same place?
I've only been writing stored procedures for a year or two and I sometimes
find myself struggling with (not) knowing how to do certain things. I
have no trouble with embedded SQL in RPG. SQL stored procedures just seem
like a different animal altogether.
