API to determine lowest target release supported?

Folks:

Does anyone know if there is an API that will tell me the lowest target release supported by the SAV* commands?

I'm looking at the QSZCHKTG API ... which shows promise ... but it appears to only validate a specific release ... so I would have to start at the current release and work backwards to determine the lowest.

I guess I could get the command definition of the SAVOBJ command as XML and parse that to get the valid values of the TGTRLS parameter ... but that's a bit of a pain.
