The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.

Pick any one at all. You'll learn basic conceptual knowledge that will
carry over into the things you'll learn next month.
If I can suggest something to stimulate ideas, try the Google Maps API.

You can start pretty small, and branch out into fetching geodata via
JSON and plotting it on your map. My state has an Open Data policy, so
it's really amazing what state research is available for the cost of
connecting to their server.
Imagine plotting your customers (you can geocode a small number of them
for free) overlaying the boundaries of parks, overlaying a heat map of
census-generated income data. Where would you send your ice cream truck?
The conceptual things you'll learn will stay with you long after the
syntax for Framework X has become as forgotten as your card saw.
