The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

I have a single field in a single table set to index (db2 on i).
can I somehow create a text index over multiple columns in one
table, or even better, over two tables?
or.. do I just need to create multiple indexes?
From my *very limited* toying with the 5733-OMF OmniFind® Text Search
Server for DB2® for i when that was available to me [AFaIK, no system to
which I have access presently, has the feature installed], I recall
invoking the _create_ procedure once per column; then the SCORING and
CONTAINS queries were directed against those specific columns for which
the index previously had been created. A query can have multiple
table-references, e.g. a join, but I recall there were some limitations
on how the data could be combined along with the use of multiple
text-search query requests.
Might a specific contrived example of DDL and some data be provided,
along with what kind of inquiry needs to be made [and the expected results]?
