However IBM did come out with a resave of 7.1 to support Power 8 since
then. (See above link.) It is extremely rare for IBM to come out with a
resave when there was no corresponding TR. I would think it was solely
not to go back on their word. In this case, I would wonder if the PTF's
got put on with 'regular' ptf's instead of a TR. That would beat having
to follow the instructions "Replacing Licensed Internal Code and IBM i of
the same version and release" from the Knowledge Center from the new
resave. However, I've done that often enough it's not a BFD.
