OK, now maybe you simplified the RPG you posted. So, I have to
ask... Are you checking that your CONNECT is actually working? I always
check the SQLSTATE after each executable SQL statement and log any errors
along with all pertinent information including the last five messages in
the joblog so that I have plenty of research material available without
having to go into debug.
