I agree but this is a clients system and the hardware is maxed out at 7.1

Management's argument is V7R1 is still supported so we will buy a new box
when end of support is announced for 7.1

Some updates are made available to previous releases and some are not and
I have no idea of the decision making process on that.

And there may quite well be a limitation in the hardware or software at
7.1 that makes it impossible to do so but that would surprise me.

We all love this box for it's reliability and security to mention two
points.

In my opinion updates that make the system more secure or enable a greater
level of security should be made available to supported operating system
releases.

Thank you all for your responses - this is truly a great group for
comments and advice.
