Hi Gary, the DSPPGM isn't what I'm looking for. I'm looking to find out programmatically if a program at the current invocation level has adopted authority. The current program in the stack might not have the user profile set at *OWNER but might still be benefiting from authority adopted lower in the stack.

The value specified for the USEADPAUT option on the command used to change the program. This parameter specifies whether program adopted authority from previous call levels is used (*YES) or not used (*NO) when this program is running.


If user profile is *OWNER you are adopting the program owner's authority.

If use adopted authority is *YES you are adopting the authority used by the invoking program/command.

Rather than hijack the current thread on authority adoption I'll start afresh...while we're on the topic does anyone know of a way to find out if the current program is working with adopted authority or would I have to walk the stack back?
