Jeff,

From what I understand it should retry every 30 minutes until 24 retries
have been done. I can't promise it works correctly, though. Never been a
huge proponent of the canned outgoing mail processes on the IBM i. :)

If these are sent with SNDDST or the QtmmSendMail API (not sure about
SNDSMTPEMM) , you may want to try ending MSF and then restarting it with
the *RESET option. This should force all unsent emails to be retried
(*WARNING!!! ALL means ALL! So not only these few but any email still in
the system that wasn't sent, retried max attempts and given up on... I've
seen emails from over 5 years ago finally go through with this).

Often I suggest to my customers using these methods to stop MSF and restart
it with the *CLEAR option now and again just to make sure all the old
emails are wiped out of the system's memory. Or better yet, our MAILTOOL
Plus option which allows resending of emails like this one on a one by one
basis or as a group by their sent date, totally bypassing IBM's SMTP server
and MSF.

We relay outgoing email from the IBM i through a Windows server. Yesterday
afternoon that Windows server crashed. I did a CHGSMTPA to relay through
my workstation instead, but by the time I got that done there were 20 or so
emails that failed. Took about 20 minutes to make that switch.

In CHGSMTPA I have RTYMIN(24 30). Once I got the relay set up on my
workstation, shouldn't it retry 24 times at 30 minute intervals? Or do I
not understand the parm correctly?

I also note that I have it RTYRMTSVR(*NO). Is that preventing retries?

Thanks.
