I can definitely see the benefits to the granular approach using QAQQINI. For what I'm doing now, the global approach should be fine. I've set the limit to 180 seconds, and I'll see how that goes.

I would read up on the QAQQINI option. I've found that it's better than the system value in that it can be set differently for different situations.

Power users get one setting, normal users another, a default for most, and the development staff can set as needed for the situation they are in. It all depends on where you put the file (there can be multiple QAQQINI files) and how you set them.

It sounds like that might be the more palatable solution for you having read the thread through.
