My best guess is that you have an input-capable character field in a
subfile.
That subfile has a '+ for more' SFLEND configured.
The character field is overlapped by the '+' on the last line of the
subfile when there are more records to display.

Nice thinking! I have no idea whether this is the actual culprit, but
it's just "out there" enough to have an air of plausibility. I was
wondering how or why the clipboard would have anything in it that
would paste as 0x41 (and not show up as the capital letter 'A'), and
your conjecture neatly moves the "blame" to the green screen.
