Unfortunately Chris is exactly correct about where the images must go, on
the IFS.

In order to load the image catalog, particularly if you have multiple files
to add consider using the API

CALL QVOIFIMG PARM('MYIMAGECATALOGNAME' '*ALL' 0)

Requires:
1) Image catalog to exist
2) All the files (.bin, .iso, or .udf) to be in the directory the image
catalog calls out
3) The "*ALL" is require to be upper case.
4) The zero is a return code for the API.

It's really fast and will clear the existing entries prior to loading it up.

You are dreaming :)
You cannot use your PC storage for the image catalog. You can however put
the images on to the iSeries IFS directory and add to your image catalog.
Put the images directory in the image catalog IFS directory ADDIMGCLGE
IMGCLG(PTF) FROMFILE('/PTF/IMAGE1.ISO') TOFILE(*FROMFILE)

Binary FTP works well. SCP if you have a SSH server running.

Subject: Loading Image Catalog

Hi,

Is it possible to load an image catalog remotely?
That is, I've got the .iso or .udf file on my PC, haven't burned a DVD, but
want to use LODIMGCLG (thus cutting out burning a DVD on my PC and mailing
it to the corporate office).
Presuming I can share my PC drive, can I get the IBM i to load the image
catalog from my shared drive?
Am I dreaming?
