The virtuals are already protected on the host, protecting them on the
client would be double protection.
Why would it be needed?

Let's try this again...
Same rules apply for ASP2 -xx as ASP1. If you were to loose a physical
disk in User ASP and the ASP is not protected then you are going to
loose that ASP and have to restore it. So with No Protection then you
would loose the Virtual drives contained in it. Protect the Physical
Spinning disks but not the Virtuals on the Target.
