We've not used a line printer in decades so I can't help you there.
I will strongly suggest you get rid of the twinax as that limits your
hardware upgrade. I think Power 6 might have been the last to support any
sort of twinax.
Keep searching for a direct ethernet.
If that fails they make ethernet -> serial and/or parallel converter
boxes.
I think we may have some destined for recycling.
