Hi Linda

I like the font size to stay the same, so I have the following settings -

Right-click in the screen, take the Edit-->Preferences-->Appearance-->Font option -

Fixed Font - No
Font Scaling - No (with this the Fixed Font Size is disabled)
Font Name - Lucida Console
Font Style - Plain

One of fellow developers likes to set Font Scaling to Yes - that fills the screen, so 24x80 gets a larger size - I find that weird and distracting - YMMV.

As to Font Name, I find that Lucida Console works really well for me. I don't like IBM 3270 much at all. Lucida Sans Typewriter fills up my 24x80 more than Lucida Console, PComm Session is OK, not sure why I don't use it - had some problems once.

I had a similar result with PC5250, BTW - and I do have black areas on the sides - I am always at full screen, as well. If you were not full screen, maybe the window would change sizes.

We've finally installed ACS but there's one thing that it does differently than the old Client Access that is very annoying to a lot of people. Not sure if there's a setting somewhere that we're missing.

In the old client, the emulator is set to 27x132 screen size and if you get to a screen that's defined that size or view a spooled file (and the screen is not maximized), the emulator expands so that the same font size is used regardless of whether it's displaying a 24x80 or 27x132 screen.

In the new client, the screen size is also set to 27x132 but the screen always stays the same size. If it's a 27x132 screen that's being displayed, the font is very small. I've played around with different font settings but if it looks better on the larger screens, it adds a lot of dead black space to the 24x80 screens.

Does anyone know if this is something we have to live with or is there some way to get it to perform like the old emulator?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Linda
