I ran the following:

CHGOBJAUD OBJ(NETGUEST) OBJTYPE(*USRPRF) OBJAUD(*ALL)

Signed on to a PC without a matching IBM i account. Opened Windows
Explorer and looked at shares on that server.

DSPJRN JRN(QAUDJRN) RCVRNG(*CURCHAIN) FROMTIME(051216 0925)
USRPRF(NETGUEST) OUTPUT(*PRINT)

and I could see some accesses.

... and not just me. Guess it's in use. And that was a brief interval.
