Imho it must be a bug because ODPs should get closed as the library List gets changed. (At least when System naming conventions are used)Birgitta

Yes, we were. We could see files left open that were in data
libraries that did not belong to the associated local session. We even
had a particular scenario which we could repeat on demand to exhibit this
condition. I cannot say for sure that applications were actually reading
from that ODP. But, after changing to dynamic SQL no questionable files
were left open anymore.
