Depending on the urgency of the situation it may behoove you to open a
ticket with IBM before pursuing a scorched earth policy of delete and
recreate. And, if you think it may truly be a damaged object then do not
rely upon a save of the object before the deletion as a diagnostic tool
for IBM to look at later. Depending on the definition of 'damaged' it may
not even save.

You pay good money for IBM support. Don't be afraid to use it.

Just write down the first line of WRKHDWRSC *PRC. In my case, 8286.
Resource Type-model
CEC01 8286-41A

7=Display resource detail

Type-model . . . . . . . . . : 8286-41A
Serial number . . . . . . . : 21-xxxxx

I kind of redacted my serial number

Now you can either call (in the US) 800-IBM-SERV or 800-426-7378,
or, my favorite,
http://www.ibm.com/support/servicerequest
I like the latter as I can type it up, attach a joblog, results of
retrieving the function's source, etc
I find if I call it in the person there only records about every third
word I said.
